On Wednesday, April 9, Teodor Currentzis and Music Aeterna Chamber Choir introduced one of the greatest masterpieces by Alfred Schnittke, Choir Concerto on the words from the  Book of Lamentations  by Armenian poet and monk Gregory Narekatsi in the Grand Hall of St. Petersburg Philharmonics. Currentzis is one of the brightest Russian conductors nowadays, a graduate of St. Petersburg Conservatory; the last time he performed in St. Petersburg Philharmonics more than 10 years ago; and his appearance on the stage is a hallmark event in the cultural life of St. Petersburg.
